TeleTHERAPY
What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is the delivery of occupational, speech and language and feeding therapy services via a live video conferencing platform. It is an alternative to in-person therapy services, which is imperative with the strict "social distancing" guidelines in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During a teletherapy session, your child will participate in therapy very similar to how they usually participate in the clinic, but instead of the therapist in the same room as the child, the parents will likely be directed by the therapist as to how best to support their child during each session. In order to participate in teletherapy you will need either a computer, a tablet or smartphone with video and audio capabilities.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many insurance companies are making changes to their policies to include telemedicine coverage and the Sprocket staff is doing all that we can to continue to stay informed regarding these updates. We highly encourage you to contact member services (the number is located on the back of your insurance card) to verify your child's specific teletherapy benefits. We are happy to help walk you through this process before you begin. Please call 615-226-2840 or email with questions Desiree@sprockettherapy.com.
