TAMARA or "T"
Hi, I’m Tamara Lemmonds, or “T” to my family and friends! I have been serving Nashville kids and their families as an occupational therapist since 2001 and loving every victory big and small that they have let me share in with them!
Both in my clinic work and at Belmont University my focus is pediatrics. Like Barb, I am trained in the SOS Feeding approach and enjoy helping children discover the sensory and social joys of a good meal. I have plenty of sensory quirks and preferences of my own and find it easy to relate to individuals who struggle to find positive ways to calm and organize their sensory systems and related behaviors. My philosophy as a clinician is one based on trust, partnership, respect and fun. I believe play is the way children learn best and that when children are laughing they are learning. I learn from my families and clients just as much as they learn from me. I love the community focus of Sprocket and am thrilled to be part of a team of out-of-the-box thinkers and doers! When I first had coffee with Barb and Nat, I knew I had to be part of their amazing vision! Super excited to be part of the Sprocket Family! I have a EdD in Educational Leadership from Trevecca University and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University. I studied at Lipscomb University for undergrad and majored in Biology. I love being a clinician but also love to share my passion for the profession by teaching in the School of Occupational Therapy at Belmont University. At home, my husband and I keep busy with our 3 amazing boys and a small herd of fur babies. Our family loves Nashville and being part of such an amazing community! |
