Hi! I’m Steph, a pediatric occupational therapist here at Sprocket. I’ve just recently moved down to this incredible city from a small town in Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised. Despite being very different from what I’m used to, I’m loving every minute of it (except I’m still trying to figure out how to get used to the heat!)
I attended both undergraduate and graduate school at Towson University where I received my Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018. I had the amazing opportunity of joining our Sprocket team a little before I graduated as I had my final student placement here! Since the very first day of my placement, I knew I wanted to work in a practice that was filled with caring, creative, and fun-loving therapists just like Sprocket. I guess hard work really does pay off!
My favorite part of being a pediatric occupational therapist is having the opportunity to help kids be the best they can be. At Sprocket, many of the kids we see have difficulties with staying on task, sensory regulation, impulse control, etc. Given that I had similar challenges as a kid in school, it’s so meaningful to me to have the chance to help these kids develop the skills to overcome these challenges. Since joining the Sprocket team, I have also become very passionate about working with infant development! Like Nat, I am in the process of becoming certified in teaching the Tummy Time! Method to families.
My passions include hiking, camping, dirt track racing, baseball games, swimming- pretty much anything outdoors! I also love spending time with family and friends including my adorable (but spoiled) 1 year old Siberian Husky, Axel! Anything that includes going on an adventure, you can usually count us in!
