HI! I'm Mallory Apel, you can call me Mallory or Mal.
I just moved to Nashville from Seattle WA. Prior to Seattle I moved frequently as a Travel OT for 3 years, moving from coast to coast and everywhere in between. I grew up in Sylvania Ohio and spent most of my time playing sports, horseback riding, playing cello and crafting.
My journey to becoming an occupational therapist started when I was 6 and went to OT myself. Through both my personal and professional experience I have developed a passion for client and family centered therapy with a focus on sensory processing and neurologic dysfunction.
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology and a Masters in Occupational Therapy.
In my free time I am hiking or kayaking with my two fur babies. Olive is a 6 year old Catahoula rescue who just wants to nap. Sunni is a 6 year old Golden Retriever rescue who just wants to cuddle. If I am inside, I'm cooking, painting or reading whatever I can get my hands on.
My dream job is to work for NASA, because who doesn't want to float in space? For now I have to keep my feet on the ground and I am excited that I get to be apart of the Sprocket Team!
