HI THERE! I’m Jess Salley, a pediatric speech language pathologist (SLP). I’ve been in Nashville for two years, but am originally from “the mitten”, aka Michigan. Life has taken me from the Detroit suburbs to Scottsdale, AZ, then downtown Chicago, and FINALLY- home sweet home- Music City! I’ve always loved the southern charm and am desperately trying to make my dream of naturally saying “ya’ll” come true :) Also, leaving the “polar vortex” winters of the Midwest is a VERY NICE added bonus to life in the South!
Some of my greatest passions include travel, spending time with my loved ones, enjoying the new restaurants/events around Nashville, and being outdoors with my rescue pup! I have an adorable 4-legged sidekick named Lincoln. If you ever happen to catch me outside of Sprocket, there is a good chance this cute black lab mix will be right there with me!
I am THRILLED to be part of the Sprocket team! This incredible crew is full of creativity, expertise, and a genuine love/dedication to improve the lives of their client/client’s family. I could go on and on about why I personally adore being an SLP, but two of my favorite reasons are being able to creatively target and achieve a child’s goals through play, and to see kids laugh and have fun as they make great strides within their speech, language, and feeding abilities. I believe in celebrating every step of progress, no matter how big or small!
My background includes a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders, as well as a degree in psychology, from Michigan State University (Go Green!). I then pursued my master's degree in speech language pathology at the sunny, beautiful Arizona State University! I also recently obtained a level one certification in yoga therapy for children with special needs. I look forward to collaborating with you :)
