Hello! I am a recent transplant to Tennesse from Southern California. The first five years of my career in Los Angeles, I was an early intervention classroom educator working alongside very young children with special needs. After a short time in Dominica, West Indies volunteering at a special needs school, I returned to California and embarked on the journey of becoming of speech language pathologist. Combining my passion for children and love of communication, the field of speech pathology was, and still is, a perfect fit. Working with children, helping them along their journey to reach their fullest potential is something I feel truly blessed to be part of!
I worked for 6+ years in the Los Angeles school system as an SLP serving children and families throughout Los Angeles county. While working for the schools I was fortunate to both teach and learn from children on the autism spectrum, children with phonological and articulation delays/disorders, as well as variety of expressive and receptive language issues. I later transitioned to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, first working with the Cleft Palate team and outpatient clinic, then with inpatient rehabilitation department where I gained a wealth of knowledge and skills working with children with varying diagnosis including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, tumors and muscle disease. These experiences truly taught me about the amazing spirit within all children and the powerful love that families have for one another.
I was born and raised in New York, and spent my teenage and college years in eastern Pennsylvania. I am thrilled to return to the east coast where I am closer to my own family who live in Florida, North Carolina and New York. I love to cook, am a nature lover, enjoy listening to music, attempting to play the accordion, reading, writing and spending time with my husband, family, friends and my awesomely sweet rescue dog, Baci.
I am honored and excited to join the team at Sprocket! Its beyond inspiring to join a team of enthusiastic, creative, client-centered folks that seek to tailor therapy according to individuals and treat beyond diagnoses.
